We just sold our 6000th Ford Expedition Fuse Box and I Just wanted to give some updates, and observations of what we've learned over the years.
I know you guys have had a lot of questions, and I have summarized a few of the most popular questions below.
Note: If you want to view the fuse boxes, you can find them at the links below
Q: Has the fuel pump relay been updated?
A: Yes, the relay has been upgraded, you will not longer have the contact board melt issue with the newest design fuse box.
Q: What's the difference between buying a new fuse box, and just having mine repaired?
A: When you have your fuse box repaired, the repair guys are just replacing one $6.00 Relay. This will work temporarily, but unless you get the newest circuit board that comes in a brand new fuse box, the issues will occur again.
Q: Do I have to replace the Ground strap that comes with the new fuse box?
A: Usually Not, Unless your old ground strap is corroded or broken, you can simply attach the ground strap to the new fuse box, saving you about an hour.
Q: My Ford dealer says the fuse box had to be programmed and want to charge extra labor, is this true?
A: No, there is nothing in the fuse box that needs programming, if your dealer tells you this they are being dishonest. Besides, you can install the fuse box yourself, in just about 30 minutes.
Q: Whats the difference between the years? Aren't all expedition Fuse boxes the same??
A: They are not the same, Starting in 2003 Ford changed the fuse box each year to accommodate more and more electronics.
Q: How do I know I'm getting the newest version?
A: The fuse boxes have production dates on them, All of our fuse boxes we sell are produced within the lat 6 months, we are seeing them sometimes produced just a week or 2 earlier.
